Crossroads

Standing at the crossroads,
Thinks which way to go.
Left, right, straight
Difficult to know.

Straight,
Everyone takes.
Known path,
No mistakes.

No one’s taking
Left, Right,
Dark, unlit, mysterious
Thrill, exciting fright.

Starts to move,
To the road in sight
The heart calls,
Turn right, Turn right.

Suddenly remembers,
A poem once read
Of taking a path,
That never was tread.

Begins a journey
Unknown to all
Follows the gut
Takes Heart’s call.

Who knows where?
This road would end
What obstacles,
Which bends?

Await her,
Whatever be the hindrance
Would still walk,
Knowing her choice, her preference.
